Hi, I'm Lindsay

 DANCE Artist.

CHOREOGRAPHER. TEACHER. Adjudicator. Kinesiologist

About

Hi, my name is Lindsay Harpham.

I identify as female, dance artist, educator, choreographer and adjudicator. I drink far more coffee than water, live for desserts, and wish I was cooler than I am. Out of all the chaotic and beautiful stages of creativity, I most enjoy the presentation. This website is my outlet for sharing work I've felt inspired to create. I use art as a way to understand myself and others, and one of my main creative goals is to make art that speaks louder than my words.  If you are interested in my humble list of accolades and paper accomplishments, I invite you to read further.

01 Biography

Originally from a small town in Saskatchewan, Lindsay Harpham is a Contemporary Artist and dance educator based out of Vancouver, B.C. Since graduating from The Conteur Academy, she has had the opportunity to work with companies such as Larchaud Dance Project, Gadfly, ACE Dance Theatre, and Red Sky Performance. Inspired by touring experiences throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia, she searches for opportunities that influence new ways of movement.

Amongst her most notable moments, CINARS opening, Australia Joint Dance Congress, performances with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, have expanded her perception of what is possible as an artist. While pursuing professional dance, she is working towards her Bachelor of Kinesiology and has completed her Certificate in Dance Teaching Studies with the RAD and Certificate in Public Relations from the UofR.

Lindsay believes growth as both a human and artist are necessary when developing as a creator. She aims to be truthful to her current self and open to her capabilities by taking risks as often as her mind allows it. Lindsay has recently begun focusing more on her own work and has choreographed movement for two short dance films entitled “Synonymous Red”, and “Bones”. Now and in the future, she would like to use her knowledge of both human kinetics and art, to create work that feels intuitive to the mover, and speaks to vulnerabilities felt throughout our society.
